Two different kinds of pretty purple flowers have cropped up on the side of our yard.

Some bush has produced large clumps of beautifully rich purple flowers. In between the clumps, you can see pointy thin green leaves that are similarly rich in their color.

Once again is celebrating a very strange number of days and I have no idea why.

365 (days) * 3.5 (years) is 1277.5 days but they are so operating 1275.

Leap days, don’t even make this work.

Also, how many people know that 1275 is approximately 3 1/2 years without doing math ?

Attempting to fix my La Marzocco Linea Mini: a story in photos.

The easiest way to access this part (I.e. least likely to break something) is through the boiler. It’s that tiny little nozzle in the rear back of the boiler. Unfortunately, it’s inset from the boiler wall and is proving to be VERY difficult to grip. We’ve tried about 7 pairs of pliers and can either not grip it, or if we do grip it, the pliers just pull right off when we try to turn it.
This is all the screws and disassembly I had to do to get into the boiler. I lay things out in the order and relative locations in which I remove them so I can put them back together correctly.
The other option is to come in from the backside of the boiler. It’s possible to remove this whole assembly and access the flow restricter from inside this good piece. But everything fits just so, and apparently it’s very easy to break the copper tubing if you try to remove it from this side.

@dachary I modeled and 3D printed a custom socket for this rounded rectangle peg, and it actually fit the 1st time. Alas, to no-ones great surprise the piece was in there so tightly that it just rounded off the inside of the socket.

Alas, we won't receive our CNC until November at the earliest so... 🤷‍♀️ a custom tool for this will just have to wait.

I am sitting outside the window of a Dunkin’ Donuts, waiting for food. Inside, I see a young woman sitting at the table with a literal “blue haired” grandmother. but it’s even better than that. It is only the top of her hair that is bright blue. Everything from the top of the ears down is “old lady white”.

This world may be going to crap, but I love that some people are learning to just embrace the joy of self expression

I am sitting outside with the dog surrounded by the sounds of croaking, bullfrogs birds, and surprisingly loud insects.

As I picked up my phone to write this, the sound of mowing stopped too. :)

Living here is a privilege and I am thankful for it every day.

I’ve bent over to move something in the garage and got a shooting pain in the back of my head. A few minutes later, it happened again. Now I have a rapidly building headache, which is never a good thing because it suggested a migraine is on the way.

I am afraid this is going to be a bad one … that really hurts

I have transitioned from stabbing and then throbbing pain to just lot of pressure and needing to move very slowly and deliberately.

Also, my thermostat is still broken. I keep being colder than the temperature warrants.

I can’t take the dogs for a walk, but I can sit out here on the deck while they wander in the backyard

I have decided to just continue chilling out here. It’s mostly just the sound of lots of birds, some weird sounding frogs/toads.

Alas, there is a constant distant sound of tractors and construction. I’m not sure what that’s about.

I need shorts. Target suggested these as an option.

Just... no for SO many reasons.

I have avoided shorts for years, but if I'm going to keep overheating like this (evidence suggests yes) I'm going to need some.

Looking through the options I realize i have NO clue what would look good on me, but I'm pretty sure it's "not these" ;)

@mycrowgirl thanks, and i am not at all surprised. Every major company seems to be trying to figure out how to make the cheapest version of their product, regardless of how it screws their customers or degrades their reputation.
