Part of me still can't believe transition is real. I still give myself a grin and a wink in the mirror most mornings. It feels like magic, that little old me I could somehow have come to look just like a cis guy.

The cat was helping me inmy attempts to find a lipstick color that doesn’t look horrible.

So far i’ve learned that pinks looks just as terrible as expected, purpleish things look pink, and that cheap lipstick feels like attempting to do your lips with Crayola Crayons.

🤔Maybe i should just get black and call it a day. Black goes with everything right? 😉

I have overcome my hatred of makeup (smell, feel, process, etc), tried the variety pack of not-quite-crayolas, and chosen one that doesn't look terrible.

Tomorrow I shall smear it upon my face along with other "feminine" products in an attempt to get a driver's license that looks better than my new passport photo.

( This is a VERY low bar. I don't know how he made it look SO bad. )

Then i shall go and interact with multiple humans in meat-space in an attempt to satisfy govt. bureaucracy.

A picture from the drive home yesterday.

The cat kept going back and forth between our laps.

Her front paws are on the door arm rest. She seems to enjoy laying there and watching out the window.

It’s still a bit stressful for her so we’ve decided we need to take her with us when we go on short trips to get food in drive-thrus

Came downstairs fresh from the shower and saw this unmitigated cuteness.

Of course, I had to sit with her and give her pets .

While I never want to have dentures, I do feel like popping your teeth out to clean them and remove stuff stuck in between them would be really convenient.

Well boo.

Just got an email from TechSmith about switching Snagit and Camtasia to subscription-only models.

I have used both happily for years, and have been happy to pay for new versions when the upgrades have been notable.

But with TechSmith driving hard for Camtasia users to also use Audiate, and with more emphasis on AI stuff, I’m not interested in getting into a subscription-based ecosystem.

So… I guess it’s time to switch to Final Cut Pro.

I seriously don't get US primaries.

Is the goal just to narrow down the field so that we don't have presidents elected with only 4% of the vote because the vote was divided over too many choices?

It feels so stupid to go to a poll and be like I'm voting for who i want in order for a bunch of other people to declare that "nah, that person isn't an option"

Then, even if they DO get enough votes to be an option they DNC or RNC can just pick whoever they want as a candidate anyway.

Chillin’ in the ambulance 🚑 while they “cat scan” the cat. Alas, we were expecting ~3hrs but actually going to be ~5

Meanwhile we’re brainstorming models for things we can 3D Print or CNC to improve some things in here.

The wee fan makes a huge difference because we haven’t cut holes in the roof for roof fans yet.

I quite like this space.

Just put together a useful bash script that will open up the web page associated with a repo's remote(s)

https://github.com/masukomi/masuconfigs/blob/master/bin/git-scripts/git-open-remote

if there are multiple remotes it'll give you choice. If there's only one it'll automatically open it.

Requires Charm Bracelet's gum to be installed. There's a link in the script.

(needs testing with repo sources other than GitHub)

why? Because i was going through my repos for backup purposes and wondered WTF some of them were.

@whitequark I used to have bad back days where I needed a cane. These days I just need a little help every now and then.

They're are so many affordable ones out there that I highly recommend giving it a try if you're even remotely considering it.

Problem: cats walk all over my skeleton when I'm in bed

Solution: put heating pad next to me as a cat attractant, cats lay on that instead

@dyani we have a heated cat/pet pad on the corner of our bedroom specifically for this reason. Alas, she ignores it from spring until early winter.

Although for reasons we can’t explain she’s been choosing to spend the night in the dog crate lately 🤔
