I’ve long wondered whether a schism is coming in the Catholic Church.
There’s been a long-simmering progressive movement (esp. in the US) putting pressure on Rome from the left. And increasingly, pressure from the extremely conservative faction, exemplified by Strickland, esp. in light of Pope Francis’ “love all, include all” hippie leanings. I wonder if he’ll have the strength and longevity to hold it all together.

📺 Canceled my DirecTV Stream subscription, which was costing me a whopping $120/month! I finally realized that most of what I actually consume is available elsewhere and I can live without the rest. Also, picked up Disney+/Hulu bundle for only $20.

Happy New Year, everyone! More importantly, THANK YOU! I’ve made meaningful HUMAN connections here on Mastodon this year. I’m constantly inspired by your creativity, good humor, and wisdom. (Sometimes I’m inspired to steal your ideas, but you know, whatever.)
