99.9% of jobs do not require urgency of any kind, really they don't. We've all had a boss who acts like someone will die if we don't hit some made up deadline by people who don't even do the job. No one needs their meal 1 minute faster or the paperwork before tomorrow morning. Your time off actually doesn't need to wait. Sometimes I think about how legitimately bad most businesses are at time management and hiring, and I wonder how they manage to exist at all.

@RickiTarr We used to measure importance of a project/issue by comparing to sustained life or planes falling out of the sky.

It seems that the importance may not be there but I can think of one industry where lives depend on it being right - standardized testing.

If it's wrong & a student suffers, it could be life & death for them. (e.g. a defect that caused bad test scores resulting in some students to fail when they should have passed) A few students lost the plot & committed suicide.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in a relationship?

Mine might sound kind of dark in relation to the question, but here goes:

People change, and they should, it's part of being a person. Some people are lucky, and they change in the same direction, but some don't, and that's okay too. There's no shame in leaving a relationship or changing the nature of a relationship that no longer serves you. We are all taught that every relationship, whether romantic or friendship, is supposed to last forever, but nothing is forever, and forcing something that no longer works, just ends in anger and bitterness. Knowing when to let go is as important as knowing when to hold on through a rough patch, and how to know either of those things is the most cliché advice of all, COMMUNICATE.

@RickiTarr It's what I told my son, if you have to "parent" that person or they you, then it is not a healthy relationship. Also imagine the thing they do that might be annoying to you and imagine it over and over (never changing) for the rest of your life. If you can imagine you can live with it as is... then plod on. If it isn't something you can tolerate, then end it.

    Tell me a silly/funny childhood story!

    I'll start:

    One time in Sunday School, the teacher was talking about the difference between humans and animals, and mentioned that Animals had Tails and humans didn't. I let her know this was not true, because my Dad had a tail, just in the front, instead of the back. The teacher was silent for several seconds, and tried to correct me in a church appropriate way, but I doubled down, and insisted that my little brothers also had front tails too. This got so heated that the teacher had to go get my parents to take me out of Sunday School.
