I am truly lost for words. As a political campaign message, this makes zero sense.
Clearly, my field of political analysis does not suffice. If a psychologist or a doctor has an analysis of these ramblings of a madman, I am all ears.
I see many British posts criticising the publicly funded National Healthcare System (NHS), and I fully understand how hospitals etc. are crucial to any society.
What I do not get is, why the people of Britain pay a basic income tax of just 20 percent, and then still seem surprised there is not enough money to finance proper healthcare. Just for comparison, the lowest income tax rate in Denmark is 37 percent, with many citizens paying up to 53 percent.
The Danish national tv debate preparing Danish voters for the European Parliamentary election coming up this Sunday, is a shouting match between party leaders — who are not even EU Parliament candidates — accusing each other of wanting to bring more refugees into the EU.
I sincerely hope other EU countries are presenting more inspiring debates to European voters.

Recently, I saw a video of a Russian soldier criticizing his orders in strong terms, because dozens of his comrades had been killed.
This is the problem with Putin’s meat assaults — humans have a way of not wanting to die.
With just 0.11 percent of GDP support for Ukraine, Switzerland is the very least supportive country in all of Europe.
Fortunately, the Swiss parliament finally voted yes to a new aid package worth an impressive EUR 5.6 billion, and I was looking forward to writing about that. But that aid package has now been turned down by the Swiss upper house.
Measured per capita, Switzerland is the 5th richest country in Europe — richer than Norway.

Just in case some other Swiss citizens are reading here, these are the members of the upper house (Ständerat) who voted for the aid package (15) and against it (28):
It's tedious to search for a particular voting list of the upper house (start with searching "Sessionsprogramme Ständerat"). But since 2022 at least we can do it now (before we called the upper house rightfully so the "dark chamber" because it was impossible to find out who voted how).

I still remember the day when Twitter was an essential tool for many professionals, but does anyone seriously think ANY politician, media person, or CEO will open X on the go and risk being seen viewing pornographic material in public?
@randahl i mean, there is a lot of easy to find porn around here too, most servers only ask to put it behind content warnings, and i'm sure some even don't ask for that. When i was using twitter, it was not very uncommon to stumble upon porn either.
As long as it's produced by consenting adults, is not stolen material, and presented hidden behind CW, or limited to people who already accepted the possibility of viewing that, i don't see anything wrong with that.
@randahl He's still violating his release conditions daily and hasn't exhibited any remorse/contrition for his crimes. For those reasons, he should be given the maximum sentence.
@Grant_M I agree, but I am afraid sentencing does not work that way. Precedence cases to a wide extent limit what the punishment will be. Incarceration is a possibility though, so there is hope.
