#israel / protester holding up sign: "Israel and US - Together we murder" arrested than released

The police in Israel released the protester arrested yesterday at an anti-war protest in Haifa who held up a sign saying "Israel and US - Together we murder."

The condition for the release of the protester, Yoram Ben Haim, was a commitment on his part to arrive for investigation if summoned. Yesterday the police notified his attorney that there was intent to request an extension of his detention, however the Police Coast District spokesperson denied such a decision had been made.

Attorney Riham Nasra representing Ben Haim stated this was "a clear case of false arrest. The police violated Ben Haim's freedom of expression, confiscated his sign and detained him, and later - decided to imprison him overnight without any legal grounds."
