Hello does anyone know a good way to follow USL2 level teams? I went to my first local game today with the first match of West Seattle Junction FC and want to keep up on the team and our division. Northwest division I think.

Any tips, blogs, or good sites for following local?

@Sablebadger I follow Ballard FC. Most of the fans are on Facebook in the supporters' group the Bridgekeepers, so check out if you have a supporters' group and where they post. There is an email newsletter that Ballard sends out that is very helpful. There's also some discussion in the @SounderAtHeart discord for the local USL 2 sides. As to podcasts, the only one I know of is Protagonist Soccer.

If there was an element that changes it's content when users interact with other elements on the page, what name would it have?

PLEASE NOTE: I am not suggesting that this element needs to exist; I am only asking what it would be called. I'm building a CustomElement, I just want it to have a name that makes sense.

@schizanon frame is too visually similar to iframe, and view is already a concept in web dev which would be confusing. Swap is better, but I associate it with a swap list, so I went with the uninspiring “update”. I would’ve expected a name with a hyphen so you could ship it as a custom element, though.

@futurebird @bk1e I don’t think we need to reserve that many new characters. We could make it a combination, like the person unicode points, where they stack (this is how you make the pregnant man emoji, for instance — person + male + pregnant). Combine ant + female + crown for a queen, ant + egg for ant egg, etc.

@RickiTarr I’m reminded of the USAF study of Air Force pilot sizes when they found that “out of 4,063 pilots, not a single airman fit within the average range on all 10 dimensions.” If that is true for USAF pilots, who are already chosen to fit in cockpits on physical dimensions, how much less uniformity must be when including psychological dimensions and a much more heterogenous population.

So no, no normal people except on one or two dimensions.

I'm really mad at several college professors in the CS department at my undergrad who told us all "self driving cars are coming" and trusting them as authorities I quashed my many qualms and wasted a lot of time in otherwise important conversations about urban planning insisting that we account for the impact of this 'inevitable' variable.

"They will be safer than human drivers." tapped into my confirmation bias ... I hate drivers, after all. Of course every one could be bested by a machine. 1/

fans, I've started building out the Depth Chart (3XI style) for the coming offseason.

The Defiance section and Academy still need a lot of work, but the First Team elements currently contain only those who have a contract for 2024. There are a lot of players with options.

@futurebird I don't think when R's hear the question "is x communism?" they hear you asking "would this constitute a fundamental change in the way we organize our economy?", I think they hear "do you agree with x?". If they disagree, then it's communism (or socialism); otherwise, capitalism. I think the word has become pure negative connotation with no actual denotation for many R's.
