We're currently having an Arctic blast here in the Pacific Northwest and I just cannot stop thinking about the homeless folks who are going to die from the complete lack of shelter available in our state. In Corvallis, our useless city council has failed, for years, to meaningfully shelter and help homeless folks during harsh weather, or at all. So, Linn-Benton County folk, if you do make it out and about today, please help someone get to a warming shelter.
I have a quick question for any #Gardeners in upstate #NewYork. Are there any examples of Fuyu persimmons growing in the area of #Albany New York? Or in the #HudsonRiver Valley?
@douglasvb@BrunoMcGee I'm constantly finding people growing plants well beyond their recommended zones here in California, but it's almost always in a protected location; or, high likelihood of loss (ie only survives a few years), or with some serious help (ie, some lychee trees around here, but with misters in the leaves to keep them in a tropical environment)
