I can unsubscribe to many communities, but one: FOSS for Android@social.fossware.space it tells me I’m not subcribed, but it’s in my list of communities. So I have subscribed. Reloaded the page. Unscribed. Reloaded and it’s still there? It’s only this particular community…
Ive been sitting on it to make one, but if anyone wants to do it, Ill give it to ya
I was gonna ask about the biometrics part in a separate question, but its both about security, so might as well combine it in one post....
I can see the comment contents by selecting View source on a deleted comment. Is this a bug or a feature? Or something configurable per instance?...
I am curious if Lemmy hosts any communities that were equivalent to the often shutdown subs like WPD, DeadorVegetables, DeadlyOops, etc…for the morbidly curious folk. Anyone know?
Is there any way to view all posts on a given instance (as if that instance was your home instance and set to “local”), and not just a specific community/communities you are subscribed to?...
When i pee without shitting i need to pee harder but when i shit pee comes easily.
If you're like me and have auto load media turned on, you may find that when you go 'back' you end up at the end of the page since the images aren't cached....
So considering there’s a substantial push to get away from places like Reddit and Twitter, as an outsider I’m wondering how the fediverse is going to actually provide solutions to some already bad problems within higher resource platforms:...
Why is it that I can find the dogs community lemmy.world with over 2k subscribers while the same community does not appear when I search from vlemmy?
I’m just trying to gauge if the performance gain will be worth the additional effort and have some questions;...
The thought of this triggers my anxiety. I’m so glad Lemmy exist, but what if Lemmy didn’t. What would the world look like?
Is it okay to set up two accounts for two instances on the same web browser? When I go to visit the first instance, i can see that account is logged in for that instance. So, that works. Then I direct myself to the another instance’s community/post, I can see the 2nd account is logged in for that instance. Would it make sense...
I’m trying to download FFmpeg on Chromebook, but every time it comes up as read only. How do I change it so I can access it?
I suspect the meaning is obvious and I’m just being a silly goose, but I’ve just been sort of bouncing around among them, since I’m not quite sure of the difference.
Header says it all. I’m seeking sites that are similar in spirit to these sites. Unfortunately, disinfo.com was stripped down and sold off for parts. DangerousMinds is still there, but new content has dropped way off....
I am dumb, I am aware. If twins have the same DNA, are they the same person from a biological standpoint?
I keep seeing posts with just “rule” in the title and I am pretty sure I missed something. Would anyone care to explain to this millennial boomer what I missed?
Curious if anyone has put together a site or something similar to view the stats for total users and instances on Lemmy? I know there’s a lot of people joining from reddit in the past few days (myself included) and thought it would be cool to see this as a historical graph.
I’ve seen discussion about China and all things Chinese on Reddit, and have noticed it can often end up being based more in emotion or tribalism than objective facts and analysis. Since we’re no longer on Reddit, let’s use the transition as an opportunity for turning over a new leaf.
You might have observed from previous experiences that many questions in single choice question papers follow some sort of a pattern that unintentionally help make the correct options predictable or at least help with cutting down on the incorrect ones....
