Is there a way to browse the local timeline of another instance?
I'm on sh.itjust.works, but I wanna browse local posts on lemmy.world from my own instance without using their url. Is there such a feature?

I know the developers are working hard and I'm sure they'll be coming with Mlem updates. I hope to see a notification centre being added, as well as the posts being collapsed instead of full-length. Do you wish for an Apollo type of design, or similar?...
Hi ! I'm new here! So far I'm liking what I see! I saw on the github page there a Solarized Theme but I'm not finding it in setting, can you explain me how to get it or how it works?
I am new and trying to understand how Lemmy works. I am posting this from my lemmy.world account, on a lemmy.ml community. It seems like you can read, post, subscribe to whatever community outside of the instance you're registered with. So... Why register on lemmy.world vs lemmy.ml or any other instance, if all communities are...
Reddit refugee here - stumbled across Lemmy as it was mentioned in a comment on Artifact but intrigued by this format and communities!...
I have registered an account on SDF's Lemmy server. Can I use this account to log in to other servers, or do I need a separate account for each server?
This thread is intended to be humoristic, i know that Schrödinger's cat is actually more complicated than a cat both dead and alive, but let's pretend it is and let's talk about the things in your job that are simultaneously in two contradictory states until you look at it.
I noticed that my posts aren't showing up in my profile or on the community. But they're showing in my post count on the top of my profile.
I try to avoid travelling by airplane, given the environmental impact of all that flying. But tomorrow I have to fly for work....
I've noticed in the explosion that we are getting duplicate communities in multiple instances. This is ultimately gonna hinder community growth as eventually communities like 'cats' will exist in hundreds of places all with their own micro groups, and some users will end up subscribing to duplicates in their list....
I would like to try making a few minor changes to the CSS in either kbin or lemmy both of which I've been trying out. I favor a more dense interface and think styles could help visually separate different kinds of content. Maybe to reorganize some stuff if I got more ambitious....
Alright! So one fine day I decided to check the Fediverse out and eventually joined mastodon. I've downloaded the Megalodon app on my phone and everything. And now I'm at a loss on what to do with it. In reality, how do you use Mastodon? I've never used Twitter before, so I'm completely new to this form of social media. All I...
When I logged in today, I noticed that I had 3 pending registrations on my instance. I haven't really come up with any rules, any moderation policy....really anything....
Most communities that I see have very straightforward names like 'asklemmy'. I have also seen '/c/showethoughts'. What does the '/c/' mean here?
I'm currently on sh.itjust.works, but wondering if I should also apply for a Beehaw user, and whether that comes with any benefits over just using my current user.
The way I use reddit is usually for recommendations, reviews, technical problems, etc. One main way to do this is to search a subreddit or all of reddit to see if the answer is already there. Is there a way to have a similar search on Lemmy ? I can't seem to get this to work. It only searches for communities and not posts within...
Apologies if this has already been asked, I'm very new here and still learning everything....
I wanted to get a pulse check on how new members are finding the general experience/website. Is it more confusing than Reddit or are you finding the instance system a better way of doing things as it can give you more freedom of where you choose to create an account?...
Is there an iOS app that is actually on the app store yet? I know matrix has element, and mastodon has its own app.
For example, I’m on Lemmy.sdf.org and I joined the Apple@lemmy.ml community. But there are many missing articles and comments. If I browse directly on Lemmy.ml for the same article there ~90% of comments are missing....
I was wondering if it is possible to import all my sub Reddits to Lemmy, or if I have to manually find a subscribe to them.
I wish I had anything to contribute to this topic but I'm sure there's no shortage of experiences out there.
I try searching keywords and nothing comes up. I'm using Jerboa for Lenny.
It seems like these communities are a lot more focused on original content than reddit somehow, unless i'm missing something. Like, Mastodon seems to have loads of bots reposting stuff straight from twitter. I guess i'm wondering why i don't see more reddit content bots, or shameless reposts. Is it to save server space? Is it...
What's the difference between active and hot and how does sorting work in general? I sorted by active and all instances and my page reloads and the entire thing is three month old posts from lemmygrad. How exactly does this whole thing work?
