Things are greening up nicely following a few warm rains, and some of our earliest fruits are beginning to set. A little busy this week but I’ll be sure to add some shots in a comment a little later....
The energy system we have today does not match the solarpunk future we dream of. If we work towards the right energy system today, we may just have a solarpunk tomorrow
Very cool project and glad to see it’s still going strong. Fun fact: I actually helped plant some of the very first trees here when it was just an empty field.
My wife and I walk our dogs on a trail along the Rio Grande every morning, and years ago I found this patch of Mountain Gooseberries. The birds usually get to the ripe ones before I do. I’ve mentioned it in the weekly thread but these are sitting an inch deep in nutrients and water. They drink it down, and I refill it when they need it. Its a hydroponic method called kratky. I don’t have a hose or a lot of room so this might be a good solution for me. Excited to see how it goes!
I almost missed fiddlehead season but was able to get out Sunday and collect a few that were still curled up tight....
I’ve been thinking about collecting dandelion sap (y’know, the white stuff inside the stem) for a while, but I can’t find anything about how to collect it because duckduckgo only shows unrelated results.
Found this growing in front of someone’s house, beautiful flowers but no idea what tree.

I got sick a week and a half ago, so things got a little messy. We’re back on schedule, tho. Kale has been the hero this season. Couple broccoli doing what I ask. Slugs got all my first round peppers, so on my back foot there....
I’ve been slowly converting all of my outdoor lighting to solar and adding more rain barrels for my garden. This got me thinking–what are the rest of you working on? I’d love to see and hear about your projects if you feel like sharing them....
It has been driving my allergies nuts since April 30th.
