Request for an off-site status communication method and more admins to help run the site & communicate with users

@ernest, we love you man, and we're grateful for the service you provide. But this site has needs that can't be met by one person: community mod approval, emergency status communication, spam management, and account management are just a few that immediately come to mind....

RTR#52 Busy month

This month, I managed to wrap up many overdue matters. It seems to me that I responded to the majority of lingering emails, and a few issues turned out to be so important that they took a few extra days. I also dealt with [a certain aspect related to the project, about which I'll be able to share more in a few weeks....

url link blocking. What happened to it.

So when someone submitted a url at least at one point it would show up on the right and you could block it. So if someone posted a newsweek link you could block any link postings from like newsweek.com or maybe reddit.com or google.com. Lately though I have not been able to. It seemed to disapear at some point. I have not...

RTR#51 End of a short break

Last week, I dealt with formalities related to the project and a few personal matters associated with the new year. Unfortunately, there was quite a lot to handle. Today is the last day I'm dealing with this, and I'm returning to the code for the regular devlogs. I'll also take care of current matters on the instance. On Tuesday...

What's the quickest way to find a magazine/community you've subscribed to?

I've been using kbin since the Reddit exodus and I still don't really know the path to finding my way into a specific community/magazine I've subscribed to. I usually search for the name using the search function, then hope I find a thread from there in the results where I can just click directly into it. Surely there must be a...

RTR#50 Plans for the upcoming week

Lately, I've been dealing with a slight fever associated with the beginning of the year. I'm trying to ensure that everything runs fairly smoothly. Today and tomorrow, I need to focus on planning finances for the upcoming year and handle formalities related to the project. In the following days, I'll implement changes to fix...

Another Interstellar update: new icon, microblogging support, editing/deleting capabilities, youtube embedding, and more (kbin.earth)

To start, Interstellar finally has an app icon; thanks to @BenjMathis1 for designing it and @dannii_montanii for helping implement it into the app! (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jwr1/interstellar/e55763688df9f62b12997515830344b701e1f47c/assets/icons/logo.png)...

OC Improved Channel Select Menu 0.2.0 — Makes your subscribed magazines and liked collections more accessible (greasyfork.org)

One of my most wanted features as of late has been for the channel select menu to have my subscribed magazines and liked collections. Right now, it just contains some general feeds, but I thought it'd be super useful to also have your mags and collections there for easy access! However, given that Kbin development priorities are...

can a magazine be permanently deleted? i don't want to attempt to mod when post deletion/moderation is not federated

i don't want spam or posts against the rules to be showing up on other sites like lemmy because the deletion on kbin isn't federated, it feels irresponsible to me and will make the community look bad. can i delete a magazine?
