@thevglibrary@bookstodon What a find! I follow someone on Instagram who collects #film#novelization (tiedinfilm for those who use that platform) and had no idea video game novelizations even existed!
Thanks for the tip on #The7thGuest on #NintendoSwitch too. I remember playing that and #11thHour as a kid and don't remember beating either. 🤔🖥️💀 Were both games re-released or just the one?
@thevglibrary@bookstodon here's mine with some VG book friends (I'm sure I have more books in this theme somewhere... Where the heck did I put MegaMan 2 / Scholastic!?)
@hollerpots@bookstodon Nice! The only one that's looking like it's missing from the library is Parsely.
Haven't heard of that one. Do you feel it belongs in The Video Game Library? (essentially any book directly referencing to video games, but not including "Fiction that mentions video games in its story").
@thevglibrary@bookstodon Perhaps. Parsely is a collection of book-form text adventures. Someone, armed with the book, invites you with "You are standing in a small cottage. There is a fishing pole here. A door leads outside."
It includes a small bit of history of text adventures, and is very smartly designed and written! It's more of a game itself however, to contrast with the Get Lamp documentary DVD (which I am also proud to own)
@thevglibrary@bookstodon A fun bit of trivia is that my spouse, a psychotherapist, has actually used Parsely occasionally in sessions with young clients with trauma. Wild, eh?
@thevglibrary@bookstodon I still have this book sitting on my 'video game books' bookshelf! I still remember when I bought it at Borders so long ago! Fun game, and a fun read.
@Toad64@bookstodon I'd love a photo of your video game bookshelf if you're willing! Want to make sure every book is catalogued into The Video Game Library!
@thevglibrary@bookstodon As promised, here's my video game books bookshelf! This is most of my gaming related books, though there may be some floating around. #videogames#books
