Oh, and also wrapped the Brethren of the Bolt for . I’m weirdly very frustrated by them but they’re done and I’m on to the next.

A truly retro painting job today. I painted up this classic 2nd edition 40K Gretchin using everyone's most nostalgic colours. Paint quality may have moved on over the years, but there is a real joy to using these paints.

@DrunkOnTea totally, new minis are stunning but on the flip side they lose the sense of being a charming gaming piece. Lovely to see these on the table.

@DrunkOnTea@warhammer.social avatar

@Alexjgriffith these were all still sealed until today. I was surprised that none of them had dried up, but maybe the little pull away seal really did its job!

Ooh that was quick. He is already done with the first one... And I must say that I am impressed. He is 11 years old. 😱🤩☕

Half of the clear plastic ghosts box painted up. Knowing how quick and easy they are, I'll smash through the other half of the box when I only have a couple of hours to spare.

DrunkOnTea,
@DrunkOnTea@warhammer.social avatar

@pidgeon_pete oooh that could look cool! Once it's dark I'll have to grab one of the cats pointer toys and give it a go!

DrunkOnTea,
@DrunkOnTea@warhammer.social avatar

@pidgeon_pete one of them lit up with a laser pointer. Not quite as impressive as I was imagining.

@DrunkOnTea That's a very welcome change sometimes! 😁

DrunkOnTea,

@croyle it really is! My next project will probably be a lot more involved and time-consuming.

My first painted Age of Sigmar army! The Nighthaunt Vanguard box, getting ready for the Spearhead game mode. Heavily inspired by the grieving legion theme, but with some brighter colors. My wife mentioned that it puts off a Scooby-Doo vibe and I'm ok with that.

@Alexjgriffith took look enough! It's a pity the made to order window is closed so I can't get any more as I really like how they look

I'm getting "your work looks like Masters of the Universe" so often that I'm going out of my way to make this guy who HAS A SKULL FOR A HEAD not look like Skeletor.

We'll see how that goes.

This is how I did my 4 Chaos Warriors for the set by the way. Almost one for each Chaos God. Accidentally. If only the dark grey one was greener.

I swear I’m not just screaming at you because I want to, swear @erikcats made me do it… that and I want to scream Mordheim at you. 1/7

The Brothers of the Green Handkerchief. As nice a mob of religious zealots as you’re ever going to meet - including some situably badly named characters including Captain Heinehienicksoon Von Karmle Glassen Auge and his three dugs, Duggle, Gruffe, and Wafver Wafve.

The beginnings of a Bretonnian Warband whose silly names have stuck around and now are the names of my Brets, including Rupert d’Hallion.

You might recognise some of these craft souls - they double up as my Stir River Partol for , they’re the same in but run as Reiklanders.

Long time no toot. finish line is just around the corner, and I’m still in the middle of things.

I went in on some some watered down skeleton horde, followed up with a glaze of Wraithbone with a pin prick of red through it to help bring up the colour (recommendation from an Uncle who actually knows what he’s talking about). Pretty happy with where I’ve got to tonight - but seeing a couple of evenings still ahead here!

Cult of the Possessed Miniature from Mordheim. Painted in off white creams, reds and blacks. This one is charging with a large spear/Halberd.

The diorama base is still a million miles from the finish line, so that’ll have to be a follow up I’m afraid. Have a wee sneak peek. 😶😶😶

Some of the goodies I picked up yesterday at the Exeter Legionary Wargames Show. Some classic 2nd edition Gretchin and Space Marine scouts, some Bolt Action Australians, and some of the classic paints, including Goblin Green.... let's hope they still work.

DrunkOnTea,
@DrunkOnTea@warhammer.social avatar

@erikcats no, the wonders of a "bring and buy" table. The 15 Gretchin were £7 and the Space Marines were £10. It seems like the people selling at these events are just out to rip you off with crazy prices.

DrunkOnTea,
@DrunkOnTea@warhammer.social avatar

@ZacBelado I think the Coat D'arms paints are slightly different. Although now may be a good chance to do a comparison and see if they really haven't changed over the years!

SpiceMerchant,

WIP: Lotara Sarrin

I must have knocked her over by accident because at some point her judgemental finger fell off. Time to check the bits for a spare Necron finger to replace it with. I'm pleased with the clothing, need to shade and layer the face and the door she is standing on feels like it could use some rust.

@warhammer40k

SpiceMerchant,

Turns out that finger is where the ursus claw fires from all along.

SpiceMerchant,

Not yet, but she’s such a fun character that I jumped at the chance to paint her.
