We really need to discuss how AFAB patients get treated by many doctors. If you need to do a pregnancy test on everyone as a matter of course - then just do the test. But don’t waste time arguing with me about whether I know the difference between an appendix and my LITERAL womb when I’m having a life threatening cardiac emergency.

I’m sure the fact that this doctor was a religious wingnut (her home doubled as a church for her sect’s weekly services) had nothing to do with it. 🙄
If that’s not abusing a position of trust for self-righteous, personal reasons, I don’t know what is.

Doctors need to start reading the previous doctor's notes - I am pretty sure checking if someone has had surgery would be easy thing to do!
And what's even easier is Listening To The Patient. A rare skill for a doctor to have it seems...
I too have been asked many times for that possibility, despite me being 100% sure it's not possible since I live with another non-binary AFAB person and that doesn't generate crotch goblins. It is a frustrating back-and-forth.

Reading your post brought back memories of the many ways many different doctors dismissed all my symptoms my first year of dealing with long covid. "Yes how smart and wise is you, I'm sure my unprecedented, sudden yet continuous onset of insanely rapid heartbeat, difficulty breathing, dizziness, headache and fatigue beginning on the heels of a debilitating illness while our cheetohlini in chief lies and tells us this horrible illness hasn't left China yet is pure coincidence, it MUST be nothing more than a panic attack... " 🙃
And my Pcp was a young woman 🙃 (not that I didn't get dismissed by all the male doctors too, especially that emt I had called in a panic who LAUGHED IN MY FACE when my oxygen levels read okay despite me feeling like I couldn't breathe) @broadwaybabyto
