As I scroll through my feed seeing the same old faces (love y'all) I've come to the realisation that my subscribed hashtags are doing very little.

Guess that's a "running my own" instance thing. 😢

I've got relays, but those seem to be mostly made up of other small instances. relay.fedi.buzz could have helped but doesn't seem to add anything new.

seems hard work if you're not on a big instance. My posts feed up, others don't feed down all that much.

@pieceofthepie have you looked at GetMoarFediverse and FakeRelay? I find them better than fedi buzz.

But the problem might still be that there are a lot of people who don’t use tags …

@michael Just got these setup (bar the cron job) and my followed hashtags have just ballooned out. This is great!

I'm assuming the next run of fedifetcher will fill out any missing replies as they're on my home feed so should be picked up. 🤞

@pieceofthepie glad to hear it. And yes, assuming that FediFetcher is set up to fetch replies to posts in your home feed it should pick that up with the next run

(If this has added a lot of new posts to your home feed, the next run might be somewhat slower than usual, but that should sort itself out after a little while)
