knorke3,

If you look very closely, you will be able to see that they actually curve with a radius of 6.371km - might want to get your eyes checked if you can’t see that…

Sabre363,

Small thing not see big ball, small thing only see flat meaningless existence

XEAL,

I wish the Earth became flat for a moment so we could throw all flat-earthers over the edge.

Asudox,
@Asudox@lemmy.world avatar

Because the earth does not have a radius of a meter

psud,

The Earth is in fact larger than a beach ball

Larger to us than a beach ball is to an ant (which can’t perceive the curve of the ball)

ScampiLover,

Assuming a ground clearance of 10cm, and a wheelbase of 2.4m (source: my ass) then you can construct an arc under the wheels

This arc says you could drive such a car on an earth with radius as small as 7.25m. Actually, it could be slightly smaller because of where the wheels would contact, but I’ve lost interest

bstix,

Optometrists are behind this. When you turn mid fourties they’ll politely but sternly ask you to consider spectacles with progressive correction. It will make the world just as curvy as they want you to see it.

TheFriendlyDickhead,

Earth is round, but humans have build straight roads so now ita a cube. And hitler lives in the corners, below the streets.

Jolteon,

I would love to see the density map of a cubic world with uniform gravity.

Feathercrown,

They are actually built like that, but they have a built-in projector that makes them appear flat to an outside observer. When they crash the projector usually breaks, which is why they then look bent.

DNOS,

I think he has bent eyes cars to me look like that …

see i knew round earthers were hiding something don’t believe the rest of the government propaganda in this thread.

Davel23,

I've actually seen flat-Earthers make the claim that if Earth was round then buildings would have to be constructed with a built-in curve.

WolfLink,

Really long buildings (bridges) actually do

thanks_shakey_snake,

Those questions/claims are really interesting as like… A way to teach children how to think about scale and approximation and stuff.

Adults holding those beliefs both a) sincerely and b) defensively though… Less cute.

BastingChemina,

On the other hand the engineers building the CERN had to include a system that compensate for the land tides due to the moon and sun gravity.
