@Free_Press I saw a squirrel doing this. Luckily I noticed that there was something strange on the road. After I passed on the bike it squirrelled itself away. I'm happy I didn't cycle over it.
@harmonicarichard you know, I saw the very same thing. I thought perhaps the squirrel was ill. What are all living beings going to do as the temps climb higher and higher. Frightening thought. Thank you for your comment Richard 👍
@Free_Press At first I thought "is it a dead animal, is it ill, like you did, and then I saw that it ran away. I'm happy, almost a year later, to read that this is normal behaviour.
With heat waves I'd be tempted to spend time in forests, where it's cooler, near streams.
