@design_law where are the reparations for all the lives destroyed by #MassIncarceration led by the genocidal #WarOnDrugs? nobody should get to trademark shit until everybody incarcerated for marijuana related offenses are freed and they, along with the surviving families of the dead get monetary restitution.

it's criminal this is being expedited while millions are still living with the consequences of #Reaganomics fascist policies.

@blogdiva I hear that. But I doubt the USPTO will consider that a factor they can take into consideration. That being said, there may well be an opportunity for public comments when/if this all goes through, and there's no reason these kinds of concerns could not be raised there

@design_law Cant they already register trademarks? I thought names like "Panama Red" were already trademarked?

@DoctorDNS The USPTO's current policy is that it won't register trademarks for use in connection with cannabis UNLESS the product qualifies as "hemp" under the 2018 Farm Bill:

I don't have an answer because I have no idea what the USPTO does vis-a-vis Schedule III drugs. But maybe someone out there in the #LawFedi does?
