Both https://github.com/tahoe-lafs/tahoe-lafs/ and https://github.com/LeastAuthority/magic-folder/ us it to exchange some secret information required to invite a new user.

I think it would be great as a "first run" or "pairing" flow for IoT sorts of devices, but I'm not aware of anything actually doing that.
