I don’t think interviewing Trump is always a bad idea. But treating him as anything other than a depraved authoritarian helps his cause by legitimizing him as a reasonable choice for voters. But I'm guessing she was under explicit orders from her 'editors,' who were under equally explicit orders from the suits at corporate, not to do anything that might upset him and make him storm out of the interview. She delivered exactly what her employers wanted. Thus, it is not possible to interview Trump, at least not in a manner that would be approaching good faith.
I would just like to see someone interview this clown and every time he lies, simply look straight at him with a glower and say...."That is a lie. I dont accept lies. Try again."
And when he says "Excuse me". Say it again.

Reporters want their interviewees to talk. That usually means pissing in the pocket of the interviewee, regardless of how repulsive the interviewer is. Police detectives are in the same boat.
A very simple measure would be to say we won't be airing any falsehoods found in this interview. Let the interview be a mish-mash of nonsequiturs that don't quite make sense.
But that's not what's happening.
For networks to be allowing only one candidate interviews during early primary season and then letting him lie all while spreading gloom and doom about Biden tells me something.
