@madam__mayhem the beautiful thing is, I suspect it can flip from one to the other and then back again, time and time again, without explanation or forewarning
@madam__mayhem isn't that the appropriate way to deal with boys? If you're occasionally troublesome it'll keep them on their toes and prevent them from being so, and they'll appreciate your sweetness all the more?
@autoerot1ca@madam__mayhem I think that sexuality is quite distinct from politics and economics, and that there is pleasure to be obtained from relationships of subjugation, of reward and punishment, even at the same time as believing that these kinds of relationships, when cast large in wider society, are nothing more than feudal.
Maybe that is a relic of subjugation, maybe it is escapism, maybe it is a desire to serve or just a masochistic pleasure. We may have had this conversation before, but in my opinion it is just a personal dynamic and a trust that is built and respected.
@autoerot1ca@madam__mayhem people are not required to engage in formal marriage, they are encouraged to do so through tax breaks and the like. People can be killed for loving the wrong person because of politics imposing, from the societal to the personal. Humans have historically used sexuality because it is a way to control them, but this does not make private and personal sexuality a public matter, it just means that it has, on many occasions, been absued in this way.
I don't place limits on what sexuality can be between two private individuals. To have a relation that is unbalanced in terms of power is abhorrent to some and arousing to others. I don't judge either of these views and think that human sexuality can thrive on a spectrum across this, without it ever becoming abhorrent or undesirable, so long as it is underpinned by consent.
(I just had a bit of cheese and cucumber on toast, so have pulled myself together, at least a little!)
@autoerot1ca I'm curious to hear what you have to say because I appreciate that you have a thoughtful view about the world and the systems we live under, and you don't unequivocally accept what you're told, which for me is the first prerequisite of a free person
