@autoerot1ca@madam__mayhem people are not required to engage in formal marriage, they are encouraged to do so through tax breaks and the like. People can be killed for loving the wrong person because of politics imposing, from the societal to the personal. Humans have historically used sexuality because it is a way to control them, but this does not make private and personal sexuality a public matter, it just means that it has, on many occasions, been absued in this way.
I don't place limits on what sexuality can be between two private individuals. To have a relation that is unbalanced in terms of power is abhorrent to some and arousing to others. I don't judge either of these views and think that human sexuality can thrive on a spectrum across this, without it ever becoming abhorrent or undesirable, so long as it is underpinned by consent.
