Leander switched out his long duster, pulling on a worn pea coat and a shapeless woolen hat, turning himself from the tough P.I. into an average working man. With practiced ease, he fell into the slouching posture of a tired worker on his way home, carrying a satchel with the newspaper, his empty lunchbox and the bottle of milk. That was who his neighbors knew, that was who his family saw.
And that was exactly the way he wanted it.
