Our neighbor, a close friend of my spouse’s, passed away last week. John Thomas was a #goldsmith with a master’s in mathematics from #UniversityOfChicago. He was a master of #repoussee, die-struck #jewelry and #engraving. He was also just a sweet, generous and curious guy.
Besides mourning his passing, we were struck by how many people from the block were looking out for John, people who went out of their way to care for the quiet #elder in apartment 3. More than we even knew about.
