Granny was asking my mother lots of questions about dead bodies yesterday so I was not sure what to expect from our visit today.

No dead body questions. Instead she spent most of the visit mashing her grilled cheese squares into a "haystack" and trying to balance a french fry on top.

Real progress! Our tabby named Sunday and our black cat named Peck are eating together, side by side. Not long ago this would have been impossible. There would have been hissing and fighting. But Sunday has come a long way in accepting Peck and the other 3 little foundlings into her life.

A great confluence of minds

Our old terrier, Hamish, meeting a kindred soul this day 5 years ago. Hamish was the result of his Scotty mum having an unplanned (by his owners) tryst with a Norfolk Terrier. He looked like a Scotty when his hair was under control, but most of the time just wild.

Much missed, but he want out in his usual good style, a good breakfast (visitors had cooked haggis, sausages and eggs) and then just went back to his bed by the fire.
