Owners of coal power stations in US are warning that retiring old power plants will jeopardise the power system.

A similar warning was made in Germany in 1993, claiming that wind + solar + hydro power can never exceed 4% share in power production. Never.

Meanwhile in Finland, companies line up to offer AI tools for households and businesses to exploit the hours of very cheap electricity, enabled by cheap wind power.

In Scotland, we routinely produce >100% of electricity demand from renewables. Wind, mostly.

Any surplus is exported.

So this is clearly, as we say, utter pish.
