@ellie Resonates. As I found afterwards, I had the only archive of a listserv I was a member of for more than 15 years... on 3.5 magnetic disks that I foolishly brought with me to a tropical country. 🤦♂️
@ellie@carbontwelve meanwhile, google is ""helping"" me search by correcting commonly used acronyms to english words, and ASSUMING THEY'RE CORRECT, so who knows if we'll be able to find those forum responses soon, anyway. /shrug

@ellie I miss forums. Such a huge wealth of knowledge on just about every subject. I think the end of forums probably all started with FB communities didn't it?
@ellie first of all, that knowledge in Discord spaces/communities/guilds (if i only remember to, i refuse to call them "servers") is borderline impossible to find.
You need to know what community you're looking in, and then rely on really meh Discord search. And then you're likely to find a random discussion that is spread throughout 3 other discussions happening at the same time.
So it's a mess and definitely not something feasible.
@ellie@rail as @luceos mentions #Flarum, I too mention @nodebb . Forums are still around, and there are excellent modern iterations of the forums of old.
