NASA sent a command to update Voyager II pointing toward the Earth, and there was an error in that command. And so it's pointed about two degrees off of the Earth. And from the distance that Voyager 2 is, close to 13 billion miles from us, that essentially points it almost to the orbit of Jupiter.
Since plutonium only has a half-life of 88 years and it's been 47, it's not surprising their batteries are dying though either.
