The Burlington, , area where I live is right in the path of totality for the solar eclipse coming up on April 8, 2024. Naturally there is a great amount of excitement! (And hopefully we don’t have a cloudy day… hard to know… it’s April!)

I was greatly amused to see that one of our local churches is selling T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts with a distinctly Vermont flavor! 🤣🐄 🐮

(Want to buy a commemorative shirt with Vermont flair?)

@danyork I'm already planning to come up for the eclipse. Do you have a park or something that you'd recommend for the viewing?

@VirginiaSOpossum Oh… interesting question. I guess you could see it from pretty much anywhere. It will be in our afternoon - https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/usa/burlington-vt?iso=20240408

The direction will be southwest … so probably anywhere nearer to Lake Champlain will have the most unobstructed views. The beaches and parks will probably be popular. If you are staying in Burlington, the waterfront will probably have many people.

I would think being near the lake in general would be good.
