    @chris I think that getting workers to feel precarious is part of the point. If you feel like your job could evaporate the employer can convince you to work a bit harder to show how much you want to job, with out paying you anything extra.

    @chris @curtismchale See also: Clients. Clients say this too. And I'm not saying you can't fire them, but it really is getting overwhelming.

    @acarson @chris For me, I have a stable of long term good clients that are happy to pay me for my work, which makes me lucky.

    @curtismchale @chris We have some of those, which gives us the leverage/luxury of getting rid of some of the difficult ones. But we have to be careful about the getting rid and are working to convert a few of the least difficult ones to long-term. But still, the whole "I-shouldn't-have-to-pay-for-anything" ethos going on in the US right now is depressing to say the least.

    @chris @shekinahcancook @acarson

    As you should. Working for yourself is not for everyone despite all the hype that gets thrown around about it

    acarson,

    @curtismchale @chris @shekinahcancook No it's definitely not for everyone and there's no shame in taking a corporate job to do things like support your eat ing habbit.

    @shekinahcancook @acarson @curtismchale @chris It’s nice to break the habit for a day a few times a year just so you know that you can.
