I'm enjoying the humor, but at this point I feel like I do need to step up and ask, do you know that bubonic plague still exists and is endemic in the US Southwest? Thankfully we have antibiotics that work on it now. Not forever.
@NilaJones@trendless I am aware. I think it's not a problem now, but I definitely wouldn't rule it out becoming a problem again with the way things are going. More infections because of COVID immune damage combined with more lax public health measures... I could see it becoming resistant to antibiotics at some point.
@PacificNic@trendless And I thought shingles was going to be eradicated because of the chicken pox vaccine. Young people are going to suffer in the future if their parents are anti-vaxers. Both my grandmothers had a child with polio. One died , the other lived in chronic pain all her life. What parent wants that future for their child?
@trendless I suppose it is time for think pieces on how we need to just live with measles because to do otherwise would be to hurt economic prosperity.
@trendless every day it just gets easier and easier to not want to have anything to do with anyone. I used to be the extrovert socializer of the household. I've told my introverted, doesn't want to socialize domestic partner, "know what, you were right all along. My bad." 😛
I hope it's the orcas who take over after humans have killed themselves off.
