@Dee wait until you learn that some DVI to HDMI adapters don't pass EDID and such "additional" channels properly, which also prevents them from going to sleep... and identifying those misbehaving adapters is basically impossible.
@samueldr I have one that has served me well (and apparently, it has the Ati logo on it, making it vintage?), but I put in a different one here because it was slightly shorter… but not short enough.
