So I'm outside in the dark with the dog because this is our 10pm ritual, and look what just appeared on the bench next to me. Australia is so ridiculous sometimes.

@tikistitch@pixelcats@MondayMarionJ as long as those nasties never hitchhike here I am good. Granted I now have what I call my spider swatting broom to knock down away the big ones we do have here. Thankfully they aren't as big as yours Jo.
@meghanwithanx@MondayMarionJ@GQB@tikistitch For this time of the year, that guy is actually a pretty small one. He's just a huntsman and they're not poisonous and pretty unlikely to bite unless you provoke it. Still gave me a little fright tho. He just strolled over and sat there next to me, and it's rare they come up close like that.
I just freaking hate spiders (ask Mr. Tikistitch). But I saw the Lucas shorts and was charmed. And I find I actually kinda warmed up to spiders. He likes chocolate!!
@pixelcats I had a tarantula climb out of a cupboard a cousin gave me in Sydney. Called building maintenance and the guy, who didn’t believe me, walks in with Baygone and a broom. Opens my door, walks in, yells, “Woaaaaah!” And backs out. (Was size of softball) Eventually he went back in and after 20 minutes of banging, opens the door and my bedroom reeked of Baygone and spider was killed.
@jodmentum Oh that's just crazy. I'd be more scared of the Baygon!
Most of the time we just ignore them. If they come inside we catch them and put them back outside in the garden. They're keeping the moth population under control!
@jodmentum Having said that tho .. I did get bitten by a Whitetail once and my god I was so sick! Little bastard bit me twice on the back of the leg and it swelled up and I had a delirious fever for a few days, so I don't really love it when they appear next to me like that! :blobcatsweats:
