Oh finally. My mom is able to watch Netflix without it buffering. It's quite odd because the results of the speed test are good but some sites like Shopee won't load (but Lazada loads!).

@rLok @pixiecata agreed it's been a bit slow here as well. Depends on the sites and where they are located. It should be getting better as right now things are getting back to normal. However, there could be residual effects.

@croptopjin @tikistitch @MondayMarionJ apparently some on the coast down here saw them, faint to the naked eye but captured by camera. I didn't see anything remotely looking like them. Keeping an eye out though tonight. We have clear skies for now and should keep them overnight

@brie I thought I would be too far south as well but Alabama and Texas saw them faintly but were able to catch pics. Fl Atlantic coast areas apparrently saw them too. I looked but didn't see anything. I'd still take a look depending on what the predictions say.

@MondayMarionJ ☹️ never got strong enough again to get down here. I downloaded a recommended app to see if it could help me figure out when go out. I think it works but alas no G5 strength. Oh well guess we'll will have to figure out something to go see them right?!!

We haven't seen these kinds of numbers in decades. @MondayMarionJ it ended up being a G5 solar storm!!! That why the auroras were so bright in both hemispheres. And the subspot that caused it isn't going away any time soon. I wonder if Tae might have gotten to see the auroras? His bucketlist is so similar to mine. 🤗

@MondayMarionJ I've heard they are fickle as hell and come in waves. Maybe it was a lull in the cycle as it passed over? 🤷🏻‍♀️ what's interesting is the amount of red in them, usually they are more green but the sky was on fire with red ones too which seemed to more prominent. Looking at the pictures and having serious post storm FOMO. 😭

@Tae156 my hometown was full of fantastic small venues and a vibrant local music scene. Over time, the venues closed one by one, the music quieted and these days those artists that still play are greyed. Their music changed from the vibrancy of youth to that of sages filled with experience. Unfortunately, no one took their youthful place when they vacated. The musical culture that thrived is clinging on, barely. Hopefully, a revival is coming. 🤞🏻

@Tae156 music does change heck my personal tastes have changed since I was young. But yes, preserving the venues is impotent bc without then where will any music thrive? It's a great initiative and hopefully one that will catch on.
