"6.8% of American adults are currently experiencing symptoms, according to a new survey from" .

Nearly 3X as many - "17.6% of American adults" - report having at some point.

This is "an 'alarming' increase in recent months even as the health agency relaxes Covid isolation recommendations, experts say.

...an estimated 17.6 million Americans" now suffer symptoms.

Additional Americans have SARS-caused heart disease, diabetes, etc.

"in October, 5.3% [experienced] symptoms...The 1.5 %-point increase comes after the second-biggest surge of infections across the US this winter."

Jan. survey asks about symptoms lasting >3 mos, so can't capture LC cases contracted during this giant wave: % will rise in next 3-5 mos.

+"children are not included in the CDC survey [but] they also experience long Covid, including fatigue, brain fog & headaches, as well as serious respiratory &cardiovascular issues, such as myocarditis"

"The survey results were released on 22 February, more than a week before the updated its isolation recommendations. The CDC says in that guidance that the “prevalence of long Covid also appears to be decreasing”, in contrast to its own survey findings.

The advice from the agency to leave isolation after symptoms have begun improving flies in the face of scientific evidence & will probably lead to more spread of the virus & more cases of , experts said."

“This should be setting off alarms for many people,” said David Putrino...at Mount Sinai.

"Ignoring Covid cases now is ' that almost assumes that we can see the future', Lara Jirmanus, a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School & [ member]. “Nobody knows what long Covid will do 5 years from now."

"the best way to prevent it is by avoiding Covid, Putrino said...“Every time you get a infection, you place yourself at higher risk of going on to develop .”

"Those who already have may experience a resurgence or worsening of symptoms with new infections. One study found that 80% of patients reported their symptoms were more severe with reinfection."

CDC telling us to go into public while still testing positive for is "very irresponsible advice, & it just doesn’t follow the science...we rely on government officials to interpret & present science to us...& right now, they’re failing in their responsibility to us,” said Putrino

"There is no cure for , & funding for research on treatments & medications has been slow to materialize."

"More than 3/4 of the people w/LC right now say the illness limits their day-to-day activity, & about 1 in 5 say it significantly affects their activities – an estimated 3.8 million Americans [have] debilitating illness...

“All of these cases that are occurring with no protection from the government & no guidance...on infection prevention – it’s taking its toll,” Putrino said."

Nearly 1 in 5 American adults having had long term disease from noticeable enough to report it as , is staggering.

A staggering share of the population.

Like I said, this does not include either the children suffering from such symptoms (some kids are too young to report symptoms anyway), OR the kind of "invisible killer" sequelae that SARSCOV2 is known to cause, like heart disease & diabetes.

My 42yo friend almost died from a heart attack 1 mo after his infection.

I know for a fact his small town doctors did not connect his heart attack to his infection, or inform the family of any such potential connection.

There is a significant amount of Covid-related diseases and deaths that are going unreported, and that don't fall under the definition of . His is only one such case.

@chargrille @fullfathomfive I am getting the sense that SARS-COV-2 could be the beginning of the end of the human race but that the wealthy don't care because they see it as a "beneficial" depopulation event.

@chargrille Telling people it is alright for them to mingle with other people when they are still infectious WITH ANY INFECTIOUS disease is flat out amoral.

There are many people with weakened immune systems whose lives are put at risk by this.
