@nixCraft this is mostly about us being 5 years away from having hw and models with as many parameters as humans have connections in the brain's connectome, about 100 trillion. That doesn't mean we will have necessarily figured out the correct model so ppl really think agi is 5 yrs away at minimum. 5 yrs until we are hw capable as predicted by plotting model size over time and drawing a line for when we should be at brains level based on how things have been going.

@nixCraft When someone says X is just 5 or 10 years away (cure cancer, aids vaccine, etc) is basically saying I have no clue of how many years away. It could be one month away or never.
