I still think about the main idea of windows phone, which was that it was centered the people you talk to the most, and it would eg serve you updates from that person no matter whether sms/fb/ig or whatever.

@samvarma I frequently think back to what WebOS was able to do with the messaging app in Palm Pre

All you did was connect the messaging app to services and then sent messages to people who were on your contact list. The app figured it out and sent your messages over the proper service!

There hadn't been something that worked that well before. There hasn't been since, sadly.

@yakkoj this is one of the reasons why I hope that all the antitrust action against Apple helps to aerate the soil and hopefully allow a few other things to flourish; maybe give us some new paradigms for how to use our devices
