What does it mean to trust in Jesus?

Well, it can mean quite a lot of different things to different people.

The most curious, and perhaps the most common, is someone trying to fulfill a command to "Trust Jesus!"

And, if you ask the person in the middle of this, "What are you waiting for Him to do?" They have no idea.

On the flip side, isn't it just as strange, that someone will ask Jesus to do something, and then immediately try to solve the problem themselves... Have you ever done that to a regular person? Did it irritate them? If you spend time and energy trying to fulfill someone's request, and they they text you later with "JK, I did something else, don't worry about it!" it would piss anyone off.

Worse is that, they solve the problem themselves, and then don't even bother telling Jesus they don't need Him to take action on the matter anymore xD Or they thank Jesus! xD

Honestly, all this shows, is that any of these people, never had any expectation that Jesus would do anything to begin with!

There is a third version, it is someone who insists that if you just do this one thing, like they do, then God will do some corresponding thing. Usually it has to do with tithing, or charity. (or taking communion) (or keeping the ten commandments)

I've seen people buy into these ideas, and they will latch onto anything positive that happens, as PROOF that God, has confirmed this teaching. It can be 99 parts bad, and 1 part good, and they will be willing to stand up in front of a group of people, and use that 1 part good, to compel others to follow in their steps.

Honestly, this third version, is the worst version. It turns charity, or worshiping God, or well anything you could imagine, into a ritual of pride.

It is one of the very, very few things, that can actually cause God to stop helping you. Because, His help, reinforces your pride, and carries you farther away from Him.

Personally, I've fallen into this trap, many times, and He has kept recusing me from it. But, I've met people, who have held fast to it for years, in spite of God's clear opposition to their life. And, they would rather die than admit they have fallen into pride.
