Ukrainian engineers, at a UAE-registered company, are co-developing a submarine vessel that is capable of firing torpedo rockets. It can travel silently at a speed of 50km/h, is able to carry 10 passengers and can carry a payload. It already has undergone tests for warfare use. Wether Ukraine will be granted access to this vessel is not yet known.

It looks cool. I hope that works as effectively as hoped for.

Ah, the underwater Cylon Raider returns. I thought this was supposed to be an unmanned, loitering capable vessel able to ambush naval traffic.

@osma @noelreports the idea for small submarines capable of carrying a small group of navy seals is nothing new. No need for deep diving capabilities, just not being visible above the waterline is already great. Speed and manoeuvrability are extra. You could build multiple versions of the same craft. One for carrying troops, one for launching rockets or torpedo's. Even a remotely operated one for self destructive missions would be capable of carrying a 1 ton explosive.

Sure. This one looks quite exotic, though, and the first time I read about it (well over a year ago) it was claimed to have "stealth" capabilities.

We shouldn't forget that the marine environment is hard, and new teams will have a lot of problems to solve for the first time.
