omg so big marshmallows that are sold for roasting are ingredients therefore get 0% VAT

and small marshmallows that are sold for baking are also ingredients therefore get 0% VAT

but medium sized marshmallows are just right for HMRC because they are sweeties and get 20% VAT

@fanf That’s not how VAT works in France… Everything gets VAT, and only the final customer really pays it (professionnals get reimbursed by the state), based on the type of product. Food is typically 10%, whatever the bite sizes.

@FredricT the classic benchmark of a crazy uk vat court case is jaffa cakes https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa_Cakes

these marshmallows are just the fin of the shark (tip if the iceberg)

cyclops_,

@fanf shall we talk about cooking chocolate vs normal?
