12yo son has #scoliosis and just got measured for his brace. As a family we have zero experience with this. Any advice or words of wisdom would be appreciated. Thanks #fedi
@TPushic I've had scoliosis since age 3 - I'm 49 yrs old now & lived a pretty full life, despite having that & polio. My best help has been from very experienced orthotics professionals & physiotherapists who are experienced working with young scoliosis patients. I didn't qualify for spinal surgery. Depending on how your child's scoliosis develops & is managed, they may need other related surgeries in future. I've had over 30 surgeries since childhood; related to polio & scoliosis.
