With all the talk about China, TikTok and the impending conflict with the west framed as “democracy vs tankies” it’s a good idea to relax and read about the different mentality Chinese people have when regarding the role of government and how they accept “oppression” in a different way as long as it delivers the expected results in terms of economics.

I read many posts there. Many are worth your time.

@santiago the Chinese were already playing this "game of government" 4000 years ago, when "the old continent" was comprised of half a dozen ragged bands of individuals trying to live long enough to see the next spring or survive the next invasion.

@guitarx As vezes fico bem cansado desses Europeus ou Americanos que engolem uma versão tão maniqueísta do mundo. Gritando tankie a todos os ventos a quem é capaz de nuance. A gente pode ver os erros e desvios de um governo como o da China e portanto perceber o que funciona lá e sobretudo sem sempre desejar a guerra total.

Mas é isso que a propaganda diária faz. Acabamos odiando pessoas que nunca encontramos.
