the worst thing about all this is it's happening in liberal institutions, under liberal leadership, ie - the people who are supposed to be the good guys and who are asking for your vote in November to stop fascism. those are the people who have invited heavily-armed cops and right-wing brawlers onto college campuses to attack students. "vote blue"?? it's fucking baffling.
@sortius@peter So… elect an actual card-carrying fascist? If Trump was in office many of those kids would be dead and he’d be building condos in the Gaza Strip. I’m no Biden apologist, but come on now. “Vote blue”? Yes I will, because the alternative is literal fascism with the military trained on anyone who objects. And, with respect, unless you’re willing to help us emigrate to Barcelona too, maybe leave this one to the people who actually have to live (or die) with the consequences.
@Rocketsredglare@sortius but it's kind of a choice between the fascist who is genuinely carrying the card and a guy who says he is against fascists and then does all the fascist stuff?? i'm not telling people "don't vote for Biden" i understand the stakes, i'm just stressed at how... thin... the practical differences are in important places. i mean, the DEMOCRATS are all lining up to "get tough" on immigration, wtf.
@peter@Rocketsredglare which was my point. To us, outside the US, they are functionally the same. Biden has had 4 years to clean up the courts, legislate to prevent Trump from taking control of everything, basically harden the US state.
