I've had quite a fair lot of surgery. I am very, very tired of it, and I want no more transition surgeries. Period.

But I saw a trans gal recently who got lipo and a tummy tuck, and afterward, her hips and ass came the fuck in. No BBL, but kinda looked like she had.

And I've got a tummy pooch that's literally the only part of my body I'm not a fan of, and the idea I could light some money on fire and cast "transmute tummy to ass" is... more tempting that I'd like.

@Impossible_PhD My gut/tummy combined with a lack of hips and ass are two of my biggest body complaints, so the idea of something like this is very intriguing.

For the gal you cited I wonder if maybe since her body saw her tummy area as damaged/wounded it automatically started putting fat stores elsewhere? I’m fascinated to know the science behind that.

@jamie_blumberg That's just how fat redistribution works. A fat cell lives for 6-7 years, and as you gain or lose weight, it just expands and contracts. If you remove almost all of the fat cells in one area, stored calories as fat need to go somewhere, so they go to your butt and hips if you're on estrogen. The lifespan of a fat cell is also why fat redistribution is so slow in transition--the e/t tells your body where fat cells should reproduce, but you've gotta wait for the old ones to die.

@Impossible_PhD I’ve been reading about the fat redistribution process for years and no one has ever explained it as clearly and succinctly as you just did. Thank you.

@Impossible_PhD Well, what else are you going to do with that money...?

@theartlav Pay off student loan debt and replace our old car, sadly.

And it's not just about the money. Surgical recovery is exhausting and I'm tired of it.

@Impossible_PhD Well, then a gentle reminder that fat redistribution takes about 10 years and you are only 3-ish years in.

@theartlav @Impossible_PhD Marathon not a sprint yadda yadda yadda. But it is nice to dream.

@miriamrobern @theartlav Downside for me is that the part of my body in question isn't fat, it's sagging skin and some deformed muscle. Ain't never gonna redistribute away.

Edit: there's fat there, obvs, but it's mostly not-fat. Tried cryolipolysis a couple of times and it had zero effect. The nurse says that's what happens when what's there is mostly "other stuff."

@Impossible_PhD ... being the one aspect of my body I can perceive... oof, I hear you. 😅
