I replaced 2 cable boxes for my parents this morning. I couldn’t take the new remotes because they’re black with tiny buttons that my parents would never be able to see.
@StillIRise1963 It's far too easy to put a modern TV in some state or other, from which people don't know the way back to normal.
A light slap of the hand can cause all sorts of unexpected behaviour, and then you have to shop up and press "exit" or "back" or one of several other options.
It's overcomplicated.
There should be a "back to normal, please" button on there. Make it the biggest one.

2) EVERY manufacturer should be FORCED to provide a pared down remote with their TVs & Boxes, that doesn’t have enough fucking buttons to control a space shuttle.
*YouTube “free” amounts to psychological torture for seniors. Don’t subject them to it. A shitshow of incomprehensible random ads does not induce happiness.
So little consideration for what we all will eventually need.
@blabberlicious All true. It’s ridiculous that the guy in the store KNEW older people couldn’t work the remotes, yet there was no alternative except to keep the old ones. I hope neither remote breaks or we’re in trouble.
