So happy I am no longer an Adobe customer.

@robpike @timbray the worst part is this will only increase their stronghold on publishing workflow, which is the only set of customers they seem to care about lately. The professional creatives are forced to have the tools their clients expect them to deliver in.

@robpike Really one of the worst software companies when it comes to putting the screws on their loyal, locked-in customers. I got off the Adobe train (after already being a disgruntled but resigned customer for a long time) as soon as they started their subscription-based cloud bullshit.

@pervognsen @robpike

What do you use instead of Adobe products?

@railmeat @robpike My private needs for PS could mostly be satisfied by open source alternatives like Krita and GIMP (which isn't good but it can often get the job done for me). I was most tightly coupled to PS at work since our artists all used it and I need to interoperate smoothly, so I always had an at-work seat license through my employer. There's nothing I can do about that part, but at least I'm not supporting Adobe with my personal funds.
