So the Matter 1.3 specification is out, yet no major platform supports 1.2 as of yet. Having Matter as an industry standard falls down fast if no platform actually supports it in a timely manner.

With WWDC just around the corner, it does beg the question, will Apple introduce support for 1.2 there? Or both 1.2 and 1.3? I'm betting on just 1.2.

Matter 1.3 was actually cut as a release based on a commit in March which is an interesting fact. https://github.com/project-chip/connectedhomeip/releases/tag/v1.3.0.0

@aaron_pearce I’ve tried to make sense of how that repo is worked on. There must be collaboration and coordination happening outside of that because the PRs often lack context yet get merged.

I’ve worked in OSS for over a decade and have never seen anything this big yet so mystifyingly organized 🤪

@wimleers I think there is a private specification repo based on links shared in that one, and that is where a lot of discussions take place. Not fully open source in my opinion.

@aaron_pearce Completely agreed.
