Hilariously, most of West Virginia's original boom came from migrants who were tricked into taking trains out of New York, and then they wound up settling there.

There are huge Italian populations in areas like Fairmont and Clarksburg, WV.

I swear these folk never actually bothered to talk to their grandparents.

Yep, went to school just west of Clarksburg and learned all about it. Often, first hand by talking to the old timers.
