@exchgr see I like the fact that my little reading only device does nothing else. That's how I read a ton without getting derailed. If I read on a general purpose device it's much too easy for my monkey mind to suggest other things to do "for just a second"

@mrcompletely ugh yeah true. but sometimes that “other” thing is airplaying music to a speaker. or looking something up that was mentioned in the book (which i don’t consider a distraction, but an enrichment)

@mrcompletely like for instance, it’s really so much easier to read dune when i have access to the dune fandom wiki thing on the same device

@exchgr I can see that. I tend to follow bread crumb trails too easily and lose the thread. For me it works better to look stuff up later. I really like the total flow state of sustained, uninterrupted reading and am comfortable with not understanding things for awhile, but clearly that's very subjective

@mrcompletely oh yeah. the way my mind works is if i let something like a list of things to look up later pile up too much, then i will simply never get to it
